Journey To Science
It appears that even though Hurricane Harvey is beginning to end another tropical storm is beginning to brew and may be heading towards Houston or Miami. Today the storms winds reached up to 60 mph while the tropical storm travels West at 15 mph. As Irma travels closer and closer to the US coast it will begin to gain strength when it enters warmer water. A report shows that Atlantic waters near Florida are 2 degrees warmer, in Fahrenheit, than normal. This storm, and potential hurricane could cause additional damage to Houston as well as America.

Forests are very important for not only for sustaining human life but also all the species that live in them. As more and more trees and forests are cut down it will continue contributing to the extinction of certain species, but this isn't the only consequence. The atmosphere will also be affected, green house gasses that should be absorbed by the trees are rising and causing global warming. Another effect is flooding, water is used by trees too live, if no trees are present to absorb water, it will collect and cause flooding in those areas, and this will ultimately contribute to soil erosion. These consequences are very serious and it does not help that about half the earths forests have been depleted.
